143 new COVID-19 cases, 164 new vaccines administered

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) reported 164 COVID-19 vaccine doses were administered on Sunday in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 49,809.

The 164 doses were administered in the following zones: Far North Central (11) and North Central (153).

There are 143 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Monday bringing the provincial total to 26,693 cases.

There are one hundred and eighty-three (183) people in hospital including one hundred and sixty-one (161) people receiving inpatient care and twenty-two (22) people in intensive care.

There were 2,254 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on Saturday. To date, 545,840 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.

The SHA did not provide additional details about the cases in a media release or on its dashboard, citing Monday being a statutory holiday as the reason. All case details from Monday will be included in Tuesday’s report.

NITHA numbers

There are 257 active cases of COVID-19 in Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority (NITHA) communities.

These cases are located in the Far North Central, Athabasca (38), Far North West (53), Far North East (84), North Central (10), and North East (72). Ninety per cent of the 2,561 cases reported to date in NITHA communities have recovered. Four people are currently in hospital.
