Inmate at Willow Cree Healing lodge dies due to complications from COVID-19

Correctional Service Canada (CSC) has announced an inmate from the Willow Cree Healing Lodge has died because of complications due to COVID-19.

According to a media release, the inmate died at a local hospital and next of kin was notified.

The coroner will now review the death.

“CSC has dedicated health services and medical professionals in all of its institutions,” the release stated. “We also work closely and collaboratively with local public heath partners and hospitals to provide complete and quality medical care to those who need it and to prevent further spread of COVID-19.”
