Police arrest one of two suspects involved in assault on Sturgeon Lake First Nation

The Prince Albert RCMP have located one of two suspects involved in an aggravated assault at a home and theft of vehicle on the Sturgeon Lake First Nation.

According to a media release, on Sunday the police arrested 39-year-old Welsey Naytowhow when they found him in a vehicle travelling between Little Red River First Nation and Highway 2. There was also another occupant in the vehicle.

They were both taken into custody without incident for investigation. The vehicle he was driving when arrested is not the same vehicle as was reported on Dec. 17. The stolen white Chevrolet Impala was found abandoned on the Little Red River First Nation on Dec. 18.

Naytowhow will make his first court appearance tomorrow in Prince Albert for a show cause hearing. He is facing charges of theft of motor vehicle, break and enter into residence and commit an indictable offence, Robbery, aggravated assault and uttering death threats.

The investigation is ongoing.

The Prince Albert RCMP are working to find 31-year-old Ashley Badger. Police say she is known to frequently visit the Sturgeon Lake First Nation and Little Red River First Nation. She is described as 5-5 and 165 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
