EA Rawlinson December shows impacted by COVID restrictions

Nov 26, 2020 | 6:00 PM

On Friday, Nov. 27 new regulations will be in place limiting gathering at performance venues like the EA Rawlinson Centre for the Arts to 30 people.

Due to the new gathering restrictions changes are being made to their upcoming shows.

On Dec. 5 Jeffery Straker will still play at the Rawlinson, but the show will be live streamed only according to marketing and events coordinator, Cara Stelmaschuk.

“It is still going to be from our stage. It will still have our great music mix. It will have nice lights, and multiple camera angles. It will look like a really good show,” Stelmaschuk said.

Starting tomorrow the box office staff will contact all ticket holders with refund options.

Livestream tickets can be purchased here.

Ticket prices are available from $10 to $100 — just pick what you think is fair.

The Broadway North Youth Company one-act plays for the Fall Intensive Program which were originally scheduled to take place December 10 to 12 will be postponed to January 14 to 16, 2021. Ticket holders will be contacted by the box office next week.

“We’re just moving it back a month to see what happens with the regulations,” Stelmaschuk said. “The plan is to do it in January.”

The EA Rawlinson Centre for the Arts will continue to update events on its website and social media.

Editor’s note: this story was amended to correct the date of the Jeffery Straker livestream gig, which is Dec.5, not Dec.4 as initially reported.
