COVID case at Carlton High School

Nov 18, 2020 | 9:41 PM

Editor’s note: This story has been amended to reflect a correction issued by the school division Thursday morning. There was one COVID-19 case not two as they reported Wednesday night.

For the second time in as many days, the Saskatchewan Health Authority has identified a positive COVID-19 case at Carlton Comprehensive Public High School in Prince Albert. This follows a similar report on Tuesday evening.

The Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division said in an email Public Health indicated there is no connection to previous cases and no evidence of in-school transmission yet.

In a media release the school division said it was informed Wednesday evening of the positive COVID-19 test result and communication is being shared with the classrooms/cohorts, the connected staff, as well as with the school community.

The students and staff impacted by this case are required to isolate until the end of the day on Nov.28 and the learning program will continue remotely for those students affected. Privacy concerns prevent sharing of further details of the case.

Carlton Comprehensive Public High School will remain open for in-person classes for all students that are not required to isolate.
