Agriculture Roundup for Monday November 2, 2020
MELFORT, Sask. – The Mandatory Isolation Support for Temporary Foreign Workers Program will be extended until the end of the month.
Agriculture and Agri-Food Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau said the decision follows the government’s announcement to extend the Quarantine Act to the same date.
This requires temporary foreign workers to undergo a mandatory 14-day isolation period when they arrive Canada.
The $50 million program assists employers in the farming, fish harvesting, and food production and processing sectors with some of the costs involved in keeping the workers safe and healthy during the 14-day period.
