Oct 26, 2020 | 7:17 PM

The Saskatchewan Health Authority is alerting the public about a positive COVID-19 case at Meath Park Public School.

According to a media release from the Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division, the case was identified in an individual and the division was informed tonight about the positive case. The cohort, classrooms and the school community have been told as well as any connected staff.

The SHA will assess the situation and contact tracing has begun. The staff and students involved have been instructed to self-isolate until further notice. The students affected will learn remotely and those students are scheduled to return to school for in-person learning by Nov. 9.

The school will remain open for students and staff who are not required to self-isolate. The students and staff will continue to be instructed by the SHA. The school’s COVID Response Plan contains many protocols and important measures to keep everyone safe.

“The division is thankful to have the support of the Saskatchewan Health Authority’s local public health team,” the release said. “They have provided expert advice and strong support for our dedicated staff as we manage the pandemic in our communities.”
