City to fix grammatical error on new bylaw signage

Oct 9, 2020 | 3:24 PM

The City of Prince Albert is working to correct a grammatical error printed on signs for the city’s recently-passed alley curfew bylaw.

A misplaced apostrophe appears on 25 placards installed throughout the city and makes the word “alley” possessive instead of plural.

Transportation and traffic manager, Keri Sapsford explained although multiple city staff checked over proofs for the new sign, nobody caught the mistake until after the signs were in place.

The fix, however, is simple and new signs won’t be needed.

“We’re just going to take off the apostrophe or cover it up,” she said, adding work would begin immediatly and likely be completed by the end of the week.

Seven signs have been installed at city entrance points, an additional 18 are placed throughout Prince Albert. (Alison Sandstrom/paNOW Staff)
