I Am The Chamber – Bill Powalinsky

Bill Powalinsky joined the Board of the Prince Albert & District Chamber of Commerce to bring more representation for the non-profit sector.

Bill is currently 1st Vice-Chair, and has been the CEO of the Prince Albert and District Community Service Centre and Pine Industries for over five years.

“I believe that the Chamber benefits from the diversity of the Board members,” explains Bill. “At the time I joined the Board, there was no non-profit representation although about 15% of the membership consists of non-profit organizations. The non-profit sector is a multi-million-dollar industry in the Prince Albert area, and the business interests of the sector are well in line with the Chamber’s charter.”

Bill’s choice to live and work within Prince Albert and area was heavily influenced by the fact that he had family established in the area, and they liked the size and amenities of the community as well

“I am proud of the volunteerism that exists and the generosity of the citizens of Prince Albert,” says Bill.

Bill shares his love of music with Prince Albert as a bass player for the band Flashback, which also explains why he would be happy to see Bell Bottom Jeans come back as a fashion trend.

Bill’s favorite place to be is Ballantyne’s Point on the Saskatchewan River where his thoughts just might be about piloting a glider or hot air ballooning someday.

Bill’s most important life advice,” All dialogue is meaningful dialogue.”
