COVID Alert app now in Saskatchewan

As of today the app is available to all residents of the province and can be downloaded to smart phones.

Those who download it to their phones will be alerted when they may have been exposed to the virus. The app uses Bluetooth to know when the app users are near each other.

Once someone tests positive for the virus they will receive a one time key once told by public health officials. They can then enter the key into the app which will then alert others with the app who have been within two metres distance of that person for at least 15 minutes within the last 14 days. Once notified they can request testing.

The app is voluntary and it does not collect personal data and does not track the location, address, name of the users. Those who choose not to download it will still be notified by public health officials if you’ve been in contact with the virus.
