Three new cases, 10 more recoveries from COVID-19 in province

There are three new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, with 10 more recoveries.

The provincial total, with one case removed for an out-of-province resident is now at 1,602.

The new cases, as detailed in the daily provincial press release, are in the North West zone.

Of the total cases, 98 are considered active 60 of which are in communal living settings. There have been a total of 1,482 recoveries.

Five people are in hospital with one receiving inpatient care in Saskatoon. Four people are in intensive care in Saskatoon.

Of the 1,602 cases in Saskatchewan, 233 are travellers, 818 are community contacts, 484 have no known exposures and 67 remain under investigation by public health.

Across the province, 65 are health care workers although not all may have sourced their infections from work.

There are 262 cases involving people aged 19 and under. There are 516 cases in the 20 to 39 age range, 492 in the 40 to 59 age range, 276 in the 60 to 79 age range, and 56 in the 80-plus age range.

Of the total cases, 51 per cent are females and 49 per cent are males.

There have been 22 deaths from COVID-19 recorded to date.

In Saskatchewan there are:

  • 413 cases are from the south area (213 south west, 189 south central, 11 south east)
  • 352 cases are from the far north area (346 far north west, 0 far north central, 6 far north east)
  • 260 cases are from the north area (126 north west, 68 north central, 66 north east)
  • 251 cases are from the Saskatoon area
  • 194 cases are from the central area (161 central west, 33 central east)
  • 132 cases are from the Regina area

To date, the province has performed 131,944 COVID-19 tests with 1,031 performed yesterday. Testing is available to anyone who requests it regardless of whether they have symptoms.
