Environment Canada issues funnel cloud advisories across central Sask.
Environment Canada is warning communities across Central Saskatchewan about conditions that could develop funnel clouds Saturday.
The weather statements for areas from the Alberta border near Green Lake to the north and as far east as Humboldt and Canora to the east warn of conditions that are favourable for the development of funnel clouds.
“These types of funnel clouds are generated by weak rotation under rapidly growing clouds or weak thunderstorms,” the weather statement reads.
“This weak rotation is normally not a danger near the ground. However, there is a chance that this rotation could intensify and become a weak landspout tornado.”
