Regional libraries prepared to welcome the public

Wapiti Regional Library is reopening.

In a media release sent out Monday afternoon the organization, which has over 40 libraries, announced they will start opening back up. The library explained they will be using a three-tiered approach when they reopen.

The first stage will see larger Wapiti Libraries open with regular hours but a cap on the number of people allowed in at one time.

Meanwhile medium sized branches will be offering services by appointment. Single patrons will be allowed into the library one at a time to browse for material.

Smaller library branches that are not big enough to ensure proper physical distancing will operate with curb side service.

At this time regular programming will not be resuming, summer activities will be continuing online. Patrons are encouraged to contact their local branch to learn about what services are being offered.
