Kinsmen Water Park will now allow individual bookings

The main pool at the Kinsmen Water Park is set to open Friday and registration for swim times is now open.

While the city initially said the pool would only be available for group bookings, it’s now been opened up to individuals as well. The public can reserve a spot for lane swim or public swim by registering online or by calling the water park.

Sport and Recreation Manager Curtis Olsen explained using bookings to manage public admission is encouraged in the Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan guidelines.

“That’s why we went to the booking right off the start,” he said. “But we’re trying to meet the needs of as many people as we can… not everyone would have the ability to get in on a group for booking, so hopefully this will allow some people to have more access to the water park.”

The city has previously announced new safety protocols for the water park, including keeping slides, the tot pool and the hot tub closed. Olsen reminded the public things will look a little different at the outdoor pool and asked for their cooperation.

“We just ask people, when they come, enjoy it but be respectful of what staff are asking with social distancing,” he said.
