Empty fire department vehicle rolls into river

Jun 30, 2020 | 5:34 PM

A Prince Albert Fire Department vehicle was pulled out of the river Tuesday afternoon.

The vehicle belongs to the battalion chief.

A spokesperson for the fire department told paNOW the vehicle was left in drive during a river rescue earlier in the day. Amidst the action it was forgotten, and “propelled itself” into the water.

Once the rescue was completed, and the patient safely on their way to hospital, tow trucks were called to retrieve the truck.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m., the Fire Department and Parkland Ambulance responded to a report of a person in the river.

One female was taken by ambulance to hospital in stable condition.
