Not guilty pleas have been entered in a Prince Albert court case, involving a drive-by shooting in the city last fall.

At a brief hearing Thursday morning at Provincial Court, the lawyers representing Kyle Bear and Kirk McDonald entered pleas to a number of charges including attempted murder, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and participation in a criminal organization.

A trial date has been set for Oct. 19 at provincial court. Judge S. Schiefner noted two days have been booked.

The shooting incident happened on Aug. 27, 2019. The 18-year-old female victim was located in a car near the skate park, and was rushed to a hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Police indicated the gang related shooting itself happened on Marquis Road, and involved two vehicles. The second vehicle was later located in the 1400 block of 28th St. E.

A third person charged in relation to the case, Sherilyn Naytowhow, received a two year jail sentence at a hearing on April 30.

Naytowhow was charged after police searched the residence on 28th St. E and found guns and drugs in the apartment.
