Prince Albert Police investigate second shooting in 24 hours

Prince Albert Police are investigating the second shooting in the city within a 24 hour time span.

Around noon today, officers responded to an 18-year-old injured female in the 700 block of 32nd St. E. The woman was in a vehicle and suffering from a gunshot wound.

Parkland Ambulance paramedics transported the woman to Victoria Hospital in stable condition.

Investigators believe the incident is gang-related and happened in the 1400 block of Marquis Road E.

Police located the second vehicle involved in the incident on the 1400 block of 28th Street East. Several people were taken into custody.

The Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification Units continue to investigate both vehicles.

Police are appealing to witnesses who were in the area of Marquis Road, between 15th Ave. E. and Sixth Ave. E. who may have noticed property damage or the incident to contact them. Police are also investigating a separate unrelated shooting from last night. A man was shot in the 300 block of 19th St. E. He was transported to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
