One new COVID-19 case in Sask., 23 considered active

The daily update of COVID-19 numbers from the province continues to look positive, with just the one new case reported Saturday.

The additional case, in the Far North Region, brings the provincial total to 664.

Of the 664 reported COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan, 23 are considered active.

A total of 628 individuals have recovered.

There is currently one person in inpatient care in the North and one person in intensive care in Saskatoon.

Of the 664 cases in the province:

• 146 cases are travellers;

• 400 are community contacts (including mass gatherings);

• 80 have no known exposures; and

• 38 are under investigation by local public health.

To date, 55,122 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of June 11, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 41,639 people tested per million population. The national rate was 55,125 people tested per million population.

COVID-19 Testing

Testing for COVID-19 is available to anyone currently working outside the home or anyone returning to work as part of the Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan.

Testing is also available to:

• Those being admitted to acute care for more than 24 hours, including expectant mothers.

• Immunocompromised individuals and their health care providers.
