Highs and lows in March for P.A. Police Service
The month of March was very busy for the Prince Albert Police Service, responding to over 3,200 calls for service. This represented a three per cent increase from the same month in 2019.
Among the specific crimes with increases were assaults, vehicle thefts, and sexual violations. The number of impaired driving offences also jumped from seven to 11 ( 31 year to date).
Last month police seized 13 firearms, which was slightly more than the same month last year, and 35 per cent higher than the five-year average.
The news wasn’t all bad. The number of robbery complaints was down, as was the number of residential and non-residential break-ins.There was also a 45 per cent overall decrease in traffic violations.
