The Raiders announced on Friday morning that Spencer Moe won the Ches Leach Award as Most Improved Player this season.

Not only did Moe register career highs with 19 goals, 32 assists and 51 points — he obliterated his previous personal bests. Moe had 10 more goals, eight more assists for 18 more points than his output last season. He was +10 better in plus-minus and had 16 fewer penalty minutes despite the big uptick in playing time.

Fittingly, his best month turned out to be Moe-vember, scoring nine goals and 19 points in 13 games that month.

“I’m very honoured to receive the Most Improved Player Award. It means a lot to me,” Moe said. “A big thing in the offseason was knowing I would have a bigger role on the team. It was a goal I was striving for and wanted. During the year, I always wanted to take things day-by-day and work on something in my game.”
