Two men charged in connection to a 2017 homicide case in Prince Albert, have each received three-year prison sentences after entering guilty pleas.

Borden Umpherville, 37, and William Chaboyer, 24, appeared via video Monday morning at Prince Albert Court of Queen’s Bench, and pleaded guilty to charges of assault, and participation in a criminal organization. Chaboyer also pleaded guilty to pointing a firearm at the victim.

On August 16, 2017, the remains of 25-year-old Duane Brett Ledoux were found at a residence in the 800 block of 17th St. W. The attack was gang-related according to evidence heard in court.

A third person charged in connection to the case, Marrissa Bird, is facing a charge of first degree murder. She is scheduled to face trial June 8.
