Unifor releases video on barricade north of Saskatoon
The union representing locked out Co-op Refinery workers has released a video on social media describing the motivation for it’s latest labour dispute tactic — putting a fence around the Co-op cardlock station off Highway 16 just north of Saskatoon.
In the video, posted on Unifor’s Twitter page Saturday morning, members at the fence explain why it was erected.
“We’re here today to put pressure on Federated Co-op which is headquartered in Saskatoon,” a woman at the picket line said in the video. “To help put pressure on them (Co-op) to return to the negotiating table.”
Another worker is shown in the video talking about one of the main sticking points during the dispute, pensions.
