For long time Prince Albert business owner Janine Favreau, the last 36 years have flown by, and one of the reasons is the pleasure and personal satisfaction she gets from being part of the community’s healthy lifestyle choices.

On Tuesday Favreau, who owns Nutters Everyday Naturals, was named the recipient of the P.A. and District Chamber of Commerce Legacy Award.

“We have been the leader in alternative health and people put a lot of value in that,” she told paNOW. “By being able to have knowledgeable staff and quality products I think we’ve served Prince Albert fairly well.”

The Legacy Award goes to a businessperson who had a positive impact on P.A. and district.

Favreau opened her independently owned Nutters store in 1985 and is the company’s longest-serving franchisee.

“I’ve made a point of trying to educate my customers and I feel that’s been a secret to our success,” she explained.

This calibre of acknowledgement is not new to Favreau as she was the recipient of the Samuel McLeod Female Business Leader of the Year award in 2013, but she admitted to being honoured and surprised by the news.

In making their announcement the chamber’s CEO encapsulated the multi-generational popularity of Favreau’s offerings.

“For years, my family and friends have been coming to Prince Albert Nutters to pick up health food products. It’s a wonderful store,” Elise Hildebrandt said in a media release.

Favreau’s success has been shared by some long-serving colleagues with two of her more senior employees having been with her for 20 and 18 years respectively.

“This last 36 years doesn’t feel that long,” she reflected. “It has been such a rewarding business to be in.”
