Mintos give up pair early in loss to Hounds
The Prince Albert Mintos saw their three-game snap on Sunday, as they fell behind quickly in their 4-2 loss to the Notre Dame Hounds.
It took just 53 seconds for the Hounds to establish a 2-0 advantage. Andrew Stuckless shocked the Art Hauser Centre by capitalizing on a turn and putting the Hounds up from point-blank range just 10 seconds into the game. And before the Mintos could touch the puck again, Thomas Chafe made it 2-0 within the first minute of the game.
The Mintos were able to crawl back and tie the game in the second period. Josh Peppler scored from a sharp angle, off of Hounds’ goalie Jared Picklyk and into the net. Then Chase Bertholet fired in the tying goal less than three minutes later.
But with three seconds left in the second period, Trey Funk restored the Hounds’ lead with a tip in front on the power play.
