Prince Albert Police investigate two separate armed robberies involving vehicles

Police are investigating two separate robberies that happened in the city within a 24-hour period.

On Dec. 30, before 9:30 a.m., police received a call from a woman who said two men with a firearm were threatening her and demanding her vehicle. She was able to leave the residence on the 600 block of 28 Street East and call police. Both men were known to the victim.

When officers responded, they isolated both men to a suite in the building and had them surrender without incident. Officers retrieved a .22 calibre rifle from the residence.

Tyler Keenatch, 26, is facing several charges, including robbery, assault, and possession of a dangerous weapon.

Ryan Bear, 26, is charged with assault, robbery, and breach of a court order.

Roughly two hours later, police responded to a second, unrelated robbery at 11:15 a.m. The male victim said his vehicle was stolen by two suspects armed with a knife and a gun. The victim and suspects were known to each other.

Police found the vehicle and set up a containment around a home on the 1000 block of 17 Street West. Several people were located inside the residence, along with a sawed-off shotgun.

Julien Lawrence Potvin, 30, was charged with robbery with a firearm, possession of a dangerous weapon, and possession of a prohibited weapon.

Joevicto Manuel Esmabe, 50, was charged with possession of a controlled substance in connection with the incident.
