Sports Year in Review; Byrne makes history

Prince Albert’s Tanner Byrne making Professional Bull Riding history makes our Top Sports Stories for 2019.

Byrne became the first ever athlete to compete at the PBR Monster Energy Canadian Finals as both a bull rider and a bull fighter. Byrne retired from riding this season and switched to fighting halfway through this year, and was voted in by his peers to make the finals.

Byrne comes from a family of accomplished bull fighters in father Ryan Byrne, brother Jesse and Bo, and cousin Scott.
