Thieves target cabin owners

Dec 10, 2019 | 11:25 AM

The Grinch and his helpers appear to be getting an early start this year.

Between Dec. 5 and Dec. 8, there was a total of three separate break-ins in the Christopher Lake and Emma Lake areas. Prince Albert RCMP Staff Sgt. Brian Kelly told paNOW the incidents may “potentially” be connected.

Security camera footage from early Sunday morning shows three men entering a residence on Ward Street at Christopher Lake. Another incident took place on Neis Drive at Emma Lake.

No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

These most recent incidents come less than a month after another series of break-ins in the area. At the time, Karla Bear, President of the Lake Country Crime Watch Group, encouraged seasonal residents at the lake to be vigilant about keeping belongings locked up and having someone check on their property regularly.
