Assault victim fighting for his life in hospital, says lawyer
One of six people charged in connection to a violent incident at Sandy Bay last week, was in court Tuesday morning at Prince Albert Provincial Court asking for bail.
Kobe Ray, 19, has been charged with aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public. Ultimately the judge adjourned the case to Friday, after advising the court she needed time to review a bail verification report.
Last Thursday a 26-year-old man was attacked in his home by two adults, and four youth. He was found by police in serious condition and transported to hospital in Saskatoon. There was also extensive damage done to the man’s home.
At the outset of Tuesday’s hearing, the Crown prosecutor advised the judge the victim was now in a “vegetative state” and there was a potential for the charges to be upgraded.
