Three P.A. clinics to offer free dental services

Nov 22, 2019 | 8:15 AM

Visiting the dentist can be expensive, especially if you don’t have insurance.

It’s in recognition of this fact that three dental clinics in Prince Albert will offer free treatments on Saturday.

It’s part of the province-wide Day of Giving campaign from the College of Dental Surgeons of Saskatchewan.

“There’s such a need for dental work in P.A. and a free day is such a perfect way to help those that can’t afford it otherwise,” Dr. Chris Bertsch of Prairie Pines Dental told paNOW.

Bertsch and a dental therapist at the clinic already have around 25 patients booked for Saturday, and they still plan on accepting walk-ins to fill in gaps left by possible cancellations or appointments that finish quicker than expected.

South Hill Dental Centre and Dr. Louis Kriel Dental Office are also participating.

According to the College of Dental Surgeons of Saskatchewan the Day of Giving is open to “anyone who is in need of basic dental care and cannot afford it.”

In a letter to potential patients on their website they remind people to “have a good meal before you come in for the event, as you may be numb after the treatment and you may not be allowed to eat for several hours.”
