Team Sask finishes just short of breaking strong Ontario dynasty

Team Saskatchewan finished one game away from their first gold medal at the Under-18 Female Nationals, but couldn’t stop the Ontario Red dynasty.

Ontario Red picked up their fifth straight Under-18 gold, defeated Saskatchewan 3-1 on Saturday afternoon in Winkler, Man. It was a 2-1 game until an empty netter late in the game to seal the tournament victory to Ontario red.

Saskatchewan finished the tournament undefeated to every other team they faced, as both their tournament losses came at the hands of Ontario Red.

Team Sask featured three Prince Albert Northern Bears, captain Brooklyn Anderson, Jasper Desmarais and Paris Oleksyn. Anderson scored a goal in the tournament.
