Strong local ties at Under-17 worlds, Canada drops first game to U.S.

Prince Albert’s Ryan Bicknell and Team Canada lost in their opening game of the 2019 17 Men’s Pan American Championship in Guatemala on Sunday, 10-5 to the United States.
Outfielder Bicknell drew three walks in five plate appearances, scoring a run and getting an RBI.
Also on Team Canada are Delisle’s Max Major, who went 0-3 with a walk and a run scored, and assistant coach Kalen Kovitch who’s also from Prince Albert.
Team Canada will take on the hosting nation in Guatemala on Monday for their next game.
