Many children will soon be hitting the streets for Halloween.

While a number of houses will be handing out candy and other treats to those going door to door some are going the extra mile. One of these residences is no stranger to many in Prince Albert.

Becky and Dennis Adams have been setting up Halloween decorations at their home on 15th Street for 10 to 15 years. Adams gives much of the credit to her husband Dennis for getting the ball rolling.

“He’s always trying to give back to the community,” she said.

She said the two started putting up decorations because they had young grandchildren. When their own grandchildren got older, Adams said they decided they wanted to continue putting up decorations in large part to because of how it all was received.

“Community kids just looked forward to it and went crazy about it,” she said.

Adams added putting on the display is made easier as the kids who come by are always polite and thankful. She said besides the positive community reaction, she and her husband also have gotten support from a number of people to help provide treats for over 1000 kids who come to their house.

“We’ve also had people drop off boxes of chocolate bars,” she said.

Along with contributions for the kids, Adams said someone has donated a merry-go-round to go in the yard which added something new for this year. Adams said they are always looking to grow and add new items and credits her husband for creating a new set up every year.

Looking forward, Adams said they plan to keep putting up their Halloween display for as long as kids in town are interested in coming to see it.

“It’s amazing when these kids all come out,” she said.

The Adams home is not the only house in the city decked out for Halloween night. On 15th Street West, Pat and Ross Alexson have for the second year set up a display in their yard. Alexson explained they appreciate the occasion.

“We love Halloween, we just love it, we love the kids coming and looking at things,” she said.

This year the Alexson’s have added a few new items, two of those being witches that are in the trees. Last year they saw 200 kids come by their house. Alexson said they’ve got good reviews from many of the children who come by.

“They just love everything,” she said.
