Raiders acquire playing rights of Matthew Pesenti

Oct 21, 2019 | 4:27 PM

The Prince Albert Raiders have traded goaltender Donovan Buskey to the Regina Pats for the playing rights of 2001-born goaltender Matthew Pesenti.

Although he will not report to the Raiders, he will stay with the Kindersley Klippers of the SJHL, according to a media release from the team.

The Saskatoon product has achieved 3-1-0-0 record, a 2.43 GAA and a .927 save percentage.

“Matthew is a good, young goalie and provides us depth at the position,” said Raiders General Manager Curtis Hunt. “This move also gives Donovan an opportunity in our league with another team.”

Last season he played for the Saskatoon Blazers of the SMHL with familiar faces: Raiders Cole Nagy and Nolan Allen.

The Raiders are back in action tomorrow night against the Seattle Thunderbirds at 8:05 p.m. at the Accesso ShoWare Center.
