Excitement builds ahead of opening of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital

Sep 5, 2019 | 6:33 AM

It’s a historic day in Saskatchewan as dozens gather to celebrate the official opening of the first dedicated children’s hospital in the province. Patients will be moved in at a later date.

The Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital was named after the businessman and philanthropist made the largest one-time donation in Saskatchewan’s history to a charitable organization – $50 million.

The total cost of the hospital is expected to come in around $285 million.

A ceremony to mark the opening will take place around 10:30 a.m. and include speeches from Premier Scott Moe and Mr. Pattison.

We’ll have live coverage of the event on 1050 CJNB, CJNS Meadow Lake, Beach Radio in Melfort and 900 CKBI in Prince Albert and La Ronge, along with pictures and video of the hospital itself online later today.
