Pair arrested after yesterday’s gang-related shooting

A man and a woman are now in custody after an 18-year-old woman was shot in the city on Aug. 27.

The woman was located in a vehicle in the 700 block of 32nd Street East, Aug. 27. Police found her suffering from a gunshot wound just before noon. She was transported to Victoria Hospital in stable condition.

Twenty-three-year-old Kirk McDonald is facing charges of aggravated assault, participation in a criminal organization, along with several firearms-related charges.

Sherilyn Naytowhow, 24, is charged with careless storage of a firearm and two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking.

Both will appear via video at Prince Albert Provincial Court tomorrow morning.

The victim remains in stable condition.

Police continue to investigate the file and anticipate additional charges.
