Midtown assault investigation now deemed a homicide after victim’s death

The victim of an early morning stabbing in Prince Albert’s Midtown area has succumbed to his injuries.

Police attended 12th Street and Fourth Ave. E. this morning around 4 a.m. in response to a weapons complaint.

Members located a 19-year-old man suffering from stab wounds and paramedics rushed him to hospital.

One man was taken into custody and other witnesses were identified.

While initially an aggravated assault investigation, it has now been upgraded to a homicide investigation after the victim’s death.

Police are appealing to the public for more information on this incident. Specifically, investigators are looking for home video surveillance from anyone residing between Third and Fourth Ave. E. between Ninth and 12th St.
