A Saskatoon figure skater was among those injured in the fiery crash near Cereal, Alta., on Aug. 20.

In a Facebook post, Skate Canada-Saskatchewan said, “Saskatchewan skater Alanna Liu was involved in the accident, and is currently being treated in hospital for her injuries.”

A GoFundMe page has been set up in support of Liu.

Liu’s parents, Enwu Liu and Yaoqin Wang, were both killed in the crash.

Family friend Dawn Zhou told 650 CKOM that Enwu and Yaoqin carried out a lot of community activities together with strong family support. She also said the couple worked hard and loved their daughters very much.

A third unidentified person from Saskatoon also died in the collision.

The RCMP says at least 10 vehicles were involved in the Highway 9 crash. One of the semi-trucks was hauling fuel, which ignited and caused several vehicles to catch fire.
