P.A.’s Parent outlasted in Junior Lobstick finals
It was a two-man showdown between Prince Albert’s Noah Parent and Calgary’s Nikko Sebjanic, throughout the week at the 2019 Pepsi Junior Men’s Lobstick at Waskesiu.
Both had a pair of head-to-head battles, and Sebjanic was able to win both of them. He squeezed by Parent in a playoff to start the week on Monday after both finished with a 75 in the qualifier. Then on Friday, Sebjanic outlasted Parent on 17 holes to win the Lobstick.
“This week I played unreal. The first round, I shot a 75 and I thought it was the low-qualifier for sure,” Parent, the 17-year-old St. Mary grad, said. “Then Nikko comes in and shoots a 75. Then the playoff we had was just unreal. Me and him were dropping shots like it was nothing.”
In the finals, Parent roared off to a hot start and led by two after just three holes. But Sebjanic forced the game back to all square by Hole five. Neither player had a lead of more than two throughout the match.
