Vehicle rollover leaves one dead, one injured

One man is dead following a single vehicle rollover near Montreal Lake on July 12.

Officers from the Waskesiu Lake and Montreal Lake RCMP detachments were called to the scene at approximately 5:25 p.m. An initial investigation showed the vehicle was travelling south on Bird Ave. in the community when it rolled.

The driver, a 19-year-old man from Montreal Lake, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger, a 17-year-old boy, was injured and located by police.

The youth was taken to hospital in Prince Albert for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The family of the deceased has been notified. His name will not be released.

An RCMP collision analyst attended the scene and incident remains under investigation.
