Apr 22, 2019 | 11:26 AM

A male driver died and a female passenger was rescued with the Jaws of Life after a weekend crash near Big River.

Early Saturday morning around 12:50 a.m., RCMP received a report about a vehicle rollover on a grid road west of Big River.

Members located the 24-year-old driver who was declared deceased at the scene. The 47-year-old woman was trapped in the vehicle and the Jaws of Life were used to free her. STARS ambulance airlifted her to the Saskatoon Hospital.

A third passenger was not located at the scene. It was discovered later that day that he was located on a gravel road close to a nearby community. He suffered minor injuries.

An RCMP traffic analyst is investigating the cause of the crash.
