Father accused of killing infant son could soon be entering plea

The Prince Albert man charged with killing his infant son is scheduled to enter a plea at his next court appearance later this month.

Kelvin Jonathan McCallum, 29, appeared Wednesday morning at Prince Albert Provincial Court, via video from the Prince Albert Correctional Centre where he is being held on remand. During the brief hearing, McCallum’s legal aid lawyer said she needed more time to receive all the disclosure and the case was adjourned to April 24 for election and plea.

If McCallum pleads not guilty, he will have the option to select a trial by judge and jury or judge alone.
