Five people charged in the death of a 22-year-old man last week have made their first appearance in court.

The five are all charged with first-degree murder in relation to the incident. Court records identify the man who was killed as Kristopher Charles.

Police say the accused and victim were known to each other. Charged in connection with his death are Kenneth Raymond Bear, Emilio Bouvier, Keegan Dustin Eagle, Joseph Ernest Okemaysim and Lindsay Rae Henderson.

Charles died Friday following an incident at Rivercrest Apartments in downtown Prince Albert.

All have been remanded to stay in custody until their next court appearance April 8.

Police say the investigation is ongoing but the incident is not related to the death of a toddler that took place in the same apartment building just a couple days earlier. A 29-year-old man was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the 21-month-old child’s death.
