Ashton Hall was named the Playoff MVP, scoring seven goals in the two finals games. Hall scored five goals of the Predators’ seven goals on Saturday, and had another two on Friday.

Hall has played a lot of lacrosse in the past seven years but before Saturday night, he had never lifted a lacrosse trophy over his head. 

“I never won a championship at any level [before], and I wouldn’t want to win one with anyone else,” Hall said. “We’re a family out here. We consider everyone that’s on this team brothers and we consider the coaches as second fathers. Everyone’s a family,” Hall added.

As proud as Predators head coach Tyson Fetch was about his team’s historic performance, he tipped his cap to the Rampage. They were the only team to beat the Predators in 14 games played this season, and they made the Predators sweat a little bit on Saturday.  

The Predators had a 6-1 lead at the beginning of the third, and the Rampage scored twice two make it 6-3 with 9:23 left in the game which made Fetch a little uneasy.

“It feels pretty good, but I think we got lucky this weekend with a couple of wins,” Fetch said. “I don’t think we played our best lacrosse but we got two wins. Credit the other team, they played hard. They came with a short bench today due to some injuries. Right up to the last three minutes of the game, we were worried. They had us worried for sure.”

The Predators are the first team outside of Saskatoon or Regina to win the league title since 2007.
