Pageau scores on penalty shot in overtime as Senators upset Panthers 3-2
OTTAWA — Jean-Gabriel Pageau has scored a number of highlight-reel goals for the Ottawa Senators, but Thursday’s game winner will definitely hold a special place.
Pageau scored on a penalty shot with 12.9 seconds left in overtime, beating Florida’s James Reimer through the legs for a 3-2 Ottawa victory.
“I was pretty tired and just tried to get my breath back and that’s the only move I know so I just tried to do it again and obviously it worked again,” said Pageau, who also scored in regulation.
Magnus Paajarvi also scored for the Senators (27-39-11), who snapped a six-game losing streak. Craig Anderson stopped 24 shots.
