McFee steps down as Raiders president; Broda takes over

The Prince Albert Raiders will have a new president.

The team announced Wednesday Dale McFee, who held the president position for the past 10 years, stepped down. McFee will remain on the team as vice president. Long-time Raiders board member Gord Broda was elected as McFee’s replacement by the rest of the board.

McFee cited “time restraints” in his decision to step down. He’s been based in Regina since 2012 as the province’s deputy minister of Corrections and Policing.

“The Raiders have and always will be a big part of who I am,” McFee said in team-issued statement. “I feel honoured and privileged to have served and to continue to serve on the Raider Board. I want to thank and congratulate Gord Broda for taking on the role of President. I personally could not think of a better community minded business person to serve in this role.”
