UPDATE: Early morning plane crash puts two in hospital
UPDATE: According to those at the scene of the crash, a float plane – a small, recreational craft – lost oil-pressure shortly after taking off from a nearby lake. The two occupants attempted to turn back to the lake after entering a flat spin, but failed and crashed to the ground.
The injured pilot is known to locals who say he has been flying for 40 years and he just purchased his plane this past spring. Post-crash, locals near Township Rd. said the man and his son walked out of the downed plane to tell onlookers what happened.
The locals believe the pilot has broken ribs, while his son injured his leg. The extent of those injuries, however, is unknown.
RCMP have not confirmed details of the crash.
