Election 2016: SaskParty finishes strong in neighbouring ridings
The SaskParty finished on top in a number of ridings neighbouring Prince Albert.
In Melfort, the SaskParty’s Kevin Phillips comfortably took the win with 5534 votes, while the NDP’s Linsey Thornton came in second with 1392 votes. The Liberal’s Bruce Ber followed with 149 votes and the Green Party’s Tanner Wallace received 100 votes.
In Rosthern-Shellbrook, SaskParty MLA Scott Moe was re-elected with 4689 votes, while New Democrat Rose Freeman came in second with 1278 votes. The Liberal candidate Orrin Murray Greyeyes came third with 462 votes and the Green Party candidate Jade Duckett received 119 votes.
“It feels very, very humbling to be elected in the community that I was raised in, that I grew up in… For the constituency to put that confidence in our plans for the party and for the constituents, there is no other word but it’s a true honour and very, very humbling,” Moe said of his considerable win.
