Sturgeon Lake aiming to keep their kids safe
Keeping their kids safe is a priority for Sturgeon Lake Child and Family Services (SLCFSI).
After an extensive review SLCFSI was recently awarded a three year accreditation from the Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for their First Nations child/youth protection services, foster family and kinship care, and their intensive family based services programs.
“I am so proud of our agency to have this well-deserved recognition after all of the hard work that they put into it,” said Shirley Bighead, board chair for Sturgeon Lake Child and Family Services.
This is the first accreditation that CARF has awarded to SLCFSI making the First Nation the third smallest group in all of Saskatchewan to have their programming pass the review.
