Canadian Red Cross is Recruiting Disaster Response Volunteers
Volunteering with Canadian Red Cross in Prince Albert provides the opportunity to engage in raising the local capacity to respond effectively to the needs of people who are affected by personal disasters such as house fires and large scale evacuations due to forest fires, flooding etc. As Prince Albert is a key capacity centre for disaster response in Saskatchewan, the development of a large team of responders is a priority focus for the Provincial Disaster Management program.
Prince Albert people demonstrated their desire to help and respond during the Wildfires this past June and July.
In recognition of this surge of interest, Canadian Red Cross is excited to be recruiting new volunteers to join the Disaster Response Team in Prince Albert and Area. A schedule is in place to provide all required training (costs covered by Red Cross) for Personal Disaster Assistant Responders and Emergency Response Team Responders to successful applicants. Please see the attached volunteer job descriptions for further details.
If you are interested in helping raise the capacity of Prince Albert to respond to disasters, please contact Sue Laflamme to initiate your application process:
