The Alfred Jenkins Field House hosted the first open martial arts tournament of the year over the weekend in Prince Albert.

The event was organized by the North Sask. Martial Arts Association and Wolfgang Manicke, Kyoshi for the Kuro Ookami Dojo martial arts school in Prince Albert.

They had over 100 competitors from across Saskatchewan competing in several divisions including open hand forms, weapon forms, point sparring, weapon sparring and light kickboxing.

All of Prince Albert’s Kuro Ookami Dojo’s students fared well in the tournament, including the many new students who joined at the beginning of the year’s season.
